NHNZ used to be known as Natural History New Zealand, they are a factual TV production house creating original content for global broadcasters. They work internationally to produce nature documentaries.

Currently on lookout for a Creative Director of Nature Programming, they offer a large variety of jobs, especially related to content creation.

I feel that if I apply for an internship here that the possibility of getting one would be strong because of the close location, the fact that they are actively looking for new talent and it helps that its an area of the industry that I am very interested in.

They also have a building based in Invercargill.

It's a local news channel whose defining feature is that they are local. I think I could be fitting for a role here because it falls in line with the type of work that I have done so far in my course and the fact that it is based in Dunedin and Invercargill makes it very easily accessible. I think the possibility of procuring an internship here would prove easier than a company located further away, if I don't acquire a paid internship it could also be a possibility since I already have a paying position here in Invercargill. Finding an internship that pays is very important, I don't understand how to survive without some source of income.

3) NZME - Located in Auckland, North Island

Street address: 2 Graham Street, Auckland 1010, New Zealand
Postal address: Private Bag 92198, Victoria St West, Auckland 1142, New Zealand
Phone: +64 9 379 5050

A conglomerate of three different NZ media brands, they put out content for Radio, Print, E-Commerce and Digital. I think this is a good option because of how much of a presence it has in the industry here in New Zealand but also primarily because they are actively advertising jobs (https://nz.indeed.com/viewjob?jk=424c0a109fb8f39e&tk=1dir52roa103a002&from=serp&vjs=3), this job linked is for a multimedia visual journalist role which offers opportunities to produce both video and still photography content. This type of position sounds perfect for what I have been trained up to do, the journalistic implications of the jobs offered also fall in line with some of the documentary style work I have done, and very much enjoyed, in the past.

The biggest screen production company in New Zealand, they are well known because of the drama programmes they produce for TV, chief amongst those being Shortland Street. Working for an establishment like this would be a great experience because of the level of professionalism and high standard that they have set for themselves. They must also offer some kind of internship program, they have an email specifically for hirage so contacting them shouldn't be too difficult, but because of their status there would most likely be more competition for an intern position.
