First Diemester

The movie opens with him telling his friends that he planning on finally doing the deed and breaking up with the bitch, they are overjoyed by this news, encouraging him whilst questioning his resolve.

He puts his foot down once they slag her off though, preferring to have them still respect her as long he's still with her, even if that is just five minutes. He establishes himself as a man bound by honour to a degree, even if it clashes with his own personal desires.

This goes into him going to his girlfriend and attempting to break up, but she has something equally important to tell him and when she reveals that she's pregnant he instead proposes.

They step out to the party with a huge crowd waiting silently, one of friends takes the badge of being able to call her a cunt now and makes the most of his newfound right, but this is met with the news that they are engaged.

They are waiting in a doctor's office, the wait is a bit awkward and she finds problems with the way he fidgets and shit - basically with the type of person that he is.

They are called in, and the doctor tells them how far into the process she is, he mentions something about certain substances and stuff to avoid and the main character's interest is piqued. He asks questions about how to "avoid a miscarriage".

It gets awkward and the doctor congratulates them, she is set on being healthy here on out - no where to run to baby.

The girl is setting up a baby shower with her friends, he is drinking away his sorrows with his bestie.

He has a nightmare where he wakes up inside her womb.

Him and his friend use the library to look up a video on inducing abortions.

Talk about the themes, but through the characters, its a layer on top the actual text, making the meaning the subtext and the dialogue the text. In Bruges does this well, like when Ray talks about purgatory in the art gallery.

So when my character (Walker) talks about his father and his absence from his childhood, it needs to be done in a way that is not on the head and removed from the actual text. What I want to communicate is that Walker feels like he can't leave Bianca pregnant because he is afraid of the child sharing a similar childhood to the one he had (his mother died soon after his birth and he was sent to a catholic orphanage - where he built his strong code of ethics and sense of honour and responsibility).

One way is of course to have his friend talk about it more than him, in any case it has to be something entertaining and maybe even comedical on its own.
