In which a man starts dating a widow who seems to be haunted by her ex-husband.

The idea is obvious and is a direct parallel to how we are haunted by past relationships, but I think its also interesting to see it from the ex's perspective, the kind of torturous jealousy you find in Mr. Brightside.
